Group 1- Michael (1), Medha (2), Alexander. M(3), Suditi(4), Aarsh (5)
Group 2- Daksh(1), Kaitlyn(2), Adam(3), Pranati(4), Ben(5)
Group 3- Laura (1), Jorvin(2), Vidhi(3), Alex(4), Brandon(5), Nicole(6)

Inquiry into Mathematics
Today in math we learned about improper fractions and mixed number fractions. An improper fraction is a fraction in which the numerator (top number) is greater or equal to the denominator (bottom number). Example 22/10. A mixed number fraction is numbers that entail both a integer (whole number) and a fraction. Example 2 wholes and 2/10. We learned that to convert a mixed number fraction to an improper fraction you must multiply the whole number by the denominator, and then add the numerator. ** The denominator will always remain the same**. To convert an improper fraction into a mixed number you must divide the numerator by the denominator. Please see below for more detail.

Unit of Inquiry
Today we did a 'think, pair, share' about what is biodiversity, what are the benefits of having biodiversity of living things, and the disadvantages. We also learned how to use a classification system and that it helps us with organization. Students are asked to explore their backyards to find as many living things as they can, then complete worksheet 4 and 5 (Sorting the school yard).

Todays Physical Activity Challenge: The Plank Challenge
-        Your challenge for today is to hold a proper plank for as long as possible. If you would like to make it more interesting you can do it in a unique place of your house, just make sure it is safe and that you are doing a proper plank. Remember to record yourself and send me the video to prove you’ve done it! Also don’t forget you need to be filling out your activity tracking sheet every day!

Todays learning goal: Students will display their knowledge of healthy snacks and how they can differ both in ingredients and nutritional value.

-        Reminder that you should be finding/making and eating healthy snacks. When you do, send me a picture of your snack and a description of how it is healthy. You need to send me 3 pictures of 3 different snacks by the end of the week! Also you should be planning and talking with your parents about the healthy meal you want to make on Friday!

The online learning continues to prove our challenges. I want to congratulate those students who completed their first online homework. I received many answers on my SJA account sjimenez@stjudesacademy.com

Those students who completed the first homework could now go to the next level by completing “Devoir 2” posted yesterday.

Stay safe!🌈“S’EN SORTIR, SANS SORTIR”🌈
