Also, tomorrow is galaxy dress-up day. If you would like to dress in galaxy themed clothing then please bring in $2 tomorrow. Wednesday is casual day and Thursday summatives are due.

Polar Expressions is back again this year and they are looking for students to have the chance to publish poems and short stories in an upcoming book. Information sheets have been sent. Students who are interested in this competition can do so on their own time, as class time will not be given. The deadline for poems is November 29th and the deadline for short stories is December 6th

Join us on Friday, November 29th for our Museum of Ancient Civilizations:

Book Fair:

Inquiry into Language
Today students began working on spelling lesson #12. This week is a review week so please study spelling words from spelling lessons 7-11. Students must know how to spell the word, what the word means and how to use it in a sentence. Spelling lesson #12 is due on Thursday.

Inquiry into Mathematics
Today students explored comparing and ordering decimals. There is 3 different ways that we can order decimals. The first way we can order decimals is by using base ten blocks, the second way is using a place-value chart, and lastly we can use a timeline. See below for the examples we explored in class.

Some of our math helpers!

Unit of Inquiry
Today students continued to work on their Ancient Civilization summative. If students have not done so yet, please have them bring in materials to create their artifact in class.

For our Ancient Civilizations summative students will be recreating an ancient artifact from one of the civilizations we studied. As of now, we will be beginning the summative the week of November 18th with a due date of Friday, November 29th. A kind reminder that all summatives are to be done in class only, and to not be done at home unless otherwise stated.

We also wrote our book fair wish lists! At some point this week we will welcome families to browse our book fair! More information to come.
