Donate to people who are homeless
Hi!!, Our names are Mona, Joana, and Shivam.
We are doing a project called Exhibition where we choose a topic we are interested in and want to research more about in order to make a positive difference in our world. We chose the topic of homelessness because we do not want anyone to be without their basic needs. Every person has the right to have a home and food to eat and clothing to wear.
We are collecting donations so that we can donate them to Angela’s Place, a homeless shelter right here in Mississauga.
You can donate:
- Non perishable food
- Clothing (for all ages such as Pants, shirts, hats ,shoes and more)
- Toiletries (mouthwash, feminine products, toothpaste, toothbrush, and deodorant)
- Seasonal clothing
- Baby formula
- Diapers
- Baby products
Reason why we are doing this= Our plan is to help people who are homeless who need food and clothing and any other useful materials. After collecting these materials, we are going to donate all these items to a shelter called “Angela's Place” (45 Glenn Hawthorne Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5R 4J9).
Thank you so much for making the world a better place!
Please bring items to Ms. Jaskolka's class (Room 30) by Tuesday, April 23rd! Thank you in advance for your donations!
Silent dance forms have been sent home. If you would like to attend, please fill out the permission form and bring in $20 (Cash only please). Forms and money are due Tuesday, April 23rd.
Inquiry into Language
Today in language we continued to work on our literature circle roles for this week. A kind reminder that literature circles are due tomorrow. This is the second last week of our literature circles meetings before our culminating activity. We will also have our spelling test tomorrow. Students who finished literature circles early had time to study for their spelling test or continue on their summative.

Chapters 7-9 due Friday, April 12th

Inquiry into Mathematics
Today in math we learned about reflections. A reflection is when a figure is reflected in the mirror line (a line in which a figure is reflect) to create a congruent image. After a reflection, a figure and its image are congruent (same size and shape but no always the same orientation, usually faces opposite ways, and are the exact same distance from the mirror line. As a class we worked a couple of examples together, then students had questions to independently finish. For homework, students are to complete the mirror images pages and the reflections sheet (the circled questions only).
Points to Remember:
A translation is when a figure slides from one place to another. For example, if you have the point A (5,3) and you translate it four squares right and one square down, the new point will be A' (9,2). We say 'A prime' and write A’ when referring to the points on the new image. Remember when a figure is translated, all of the points are translated by the same value.
Unit of Inquiry
Today we continued working on our UOI summative. For this summative students will research a species of their choice and create a podcast to inform the rest of us about the species they chose. It may be an audio or video podcast. The podcast is due on Friday, April 26th.
Our final unit of the year will be about coding. All students will be required to have a working laptop, not device, for this unit. They will be expected to bring it to school each and every day. Students will also be expected have their own email account. A Gmail account is preferred, as we can easily share our projects. Our coding unit begin on Monday, April 29t
