Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you had a great day! Tomorrow is day 5  (Our trip to the ROM).  
Tomorrow is our trip to the ROM in Toronto. Students will be required to wear their full winter uniform, including blazers – no house hoodies please. Be sure to pack a disposable lunch as we will be eating lunch at the ROM after our guided tour. We will be leaving a little before 9:30 AM and arriving back sometime before 3:00 PM, traffic dependent of course. Please be sure to arrive on time for school tomorrow as the bus will not wait for students who are late.

It will close Wednesday, November 20th at 3:00pm 

Special of the month: Spaghetti and Meatballs which is available every Friday. 

All payments are to be made through quickbooks by December 6th.


Book Fair:




Polar Expressions is back again this year and they are looking for students to have the chance to publish poems and short stories in an upcoming book. Information sheets have been sent. Students who are interested in this competition can do so on their own time, as class time will not be given. The deadline for poems is November 29th and the deadline for short stories is December 6th

Inquiry into Language
Today we continued to work on our Ancient Civilization summative. 

Inquiry into Mathematics
Today we began our next unit, Fractions. We learned how large numbers are represented in the media. Numbers in the media are often rounded and reported using fractions or decimals. Take a look at our two scenarios below. 

I have marked the math tests, but I am still waiting for all students to write the test before sending it home. 















Unit of Inquiry
Today students continued to work on their Ancient Civilization summative. 

For our Ancient Civilizations summative students will be recreating an ancient artifact from one of the civilizations we studied. As of now, we will be beginning the summative the week of November 18th with a due date of Friday, November 29th. A kind reminder that all summatives are to be done in class only, and to not be done at home unless otherwise stated.

- Bring in device
- ROM Trip tomorrow
- Christmas concert costume money due Friday

Wednesday, November 27 – Casual Day – please ensure you have paid the $20 cash for casual day
Friday, November 29 – Term 1 Report Cards Go Home
