SJA Annual Poetry and Speech Recital Packages were sent home. Please read and review the package. Packages are to be signed and returned by tomorrow. 

Re-registrations packages have been sent home. All completed forms are due back no later than February 11^th, 2019, in order to save your spots. 

Today was year Year Ahead Day and it was a pleasure to have some Grade 4's for the day. We had a wonderful day in Grade 5 we had Music with Mr. Oliver, French with Mme. Rowan and Gym with Mr. Orr, as well as the following subjects.

Inquiry into Mathematics

Today in Math we played Kahoot Math games. Our first round we played 'Grade 5 Math Review' and our second round we played 'Grade 5 Mental Math'. The students had a blast playing the game. Congratulations to all students! You guys did amazing!

Inquiry into Language

Today in Language we read the first chapter of Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief. All students took turns reading. We also played the spelling game: Sparkle. To play the game Sparkle the teacher gives students a word and all the students together spell the word. For example: if the word is geography, the first student would say 'g'  the second would say 'e' and so on..

Unit of Inquiry

Today in UOI we focused on our current Grade 5 Unit, The Human Body. We watched a Bill Nye Science video on bones and muscles. While watching the video students completed a fill in the blank activity. Once we finished our video we all completed a human skeleton.
