Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope had a great night! Tomorrow is day 5 (Technology and House tie day). Please bring in devices.
 Ski forms and waivers were sent home last week. Please read and fill in all sections of all forms and return to me by Friday, December 11th.  Report cards were sent last week. Please review and return the last page with your comments on it. Aftercare invoices are due by December 15th. Be sure to pay on time to avoid interest charges!


Parent Guild has put together a fun day for our last day of school on December 20th. Please fill out the forms that were sent home. Forms are due December 10th.

March Break Camp registration forms were sent home. If you are interested please fill in the form and bring it back to school as soon as possible. 

*Please note that students doing any after school activity, soccer, karate, yoga, etc. will be charged until 4:00 PM in aftercare, when they will be dismissed to their program with their coach!**

Inquiry into Math

Today in math we focused on multiplying decimals by 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001  Remember when you are multiplying by 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001 your answer will get smaller. MMS lesson 9 is for homework due tomorrow. 

0.1 -> move . 1 spot left
0.01 -> move . 2 spots left
0.001 -> move . 3 spots left




Points to remember:

4.9 = 4 and 9/10 (tenths)
4.99 = 4 and 99/100 (hundredths)
4.999 = 4 and 99/1000 (thousandths)
¼ = 0.25
½ = 0.50
¾ = 0.75

- 2.25 million is written in standard form as 
2, 250, 000. 

As a decimal we write it as 2.25 million (2 whole million + 0.25 million) and as a fraction it is ¼ of a million (25 is ¼ of 100).

Inquiry into Language

Today in language students completed their pre- OWA (Ontario Writing Assessment). This term we are focusing on persuasive writing for our OWA's as we have speeches coming up. Then we practiced our Christmas concert with our props and in partners practiced for student-led conference.

Unit of Inquiry 

Today in UOI we continued to cut out parts of our skeleton. Some students started to glue parts of the skeleton together. 







Homework:

- Study for spelling Test tomorrow
