Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope had a great weekend! Tomorrow is day 1. 
 Ski forms and waivers were sent home last week. ALL waivers are due TOMORROW.  On Monday, December 17th we will have our dress rehearsal for our Christmas concert. Please come to school in your costume. If you need help finding items for your costume, please let me know! Re-registration packages were sent home today. Please fill in forms and return by FebruaryReport cards were sent last week. Please review and return the last page with your comments on it. Aftercare invoices are due by December 15th. Be sure to pay on time to avoid interest charges!

Unfortunately due to Christmas concert we will be postponing our bake sale to Wednesday, December 19th and Thursday, December 20th. A kind reminder to make sure that all baked goods do not contain traces of peanuts or tree nuts. Thank you in advance!


Hot lunch for January is now open. The special for January is French toast with fruit. The website will close on Wednesday, December 19th at 3:00pm. A kind reminder to please make sure you are ordering under the right grade and teacher!

March Break Camp registration forms were sent home. If you are interested please fill in the form and bring it back to school as soon as possible. 

*Please note that students doing any after school activity, soccer, karate, yoga, etc. will be charged until 4:00 PM in aftercare, when they will be dismissed to their program with their coach!**

Inquiry into Math

Today in math we focused on dividing decimals by a 1-digit whole number. Remember when you are dividing to put the decimal back into your answer! We have moved our math test for this unit to Friday, December 14th due to the crazy schedule next week with Christmas concert

Points to remember:

4.9 = 4 and 9/10 (tenths)
4.99 = 4 and 99/100 (hundredths)
4.999 = 4 and 99/1000 (thousandths)
¼ = 0.25
½ = 0.50
¾ = 0.75

- 2.25 million is written in standard form as 
2, 250, 000. 

As a decimal we write it as 2.25 million (2 whole million + 0.25 million) and as a fraction it is ¼ of a million (25 is ¼ of 100).

0.001 -> move . 3 spots left

Dividing decimals:

Remember when multiplying decimals by a 1-digit number to move your decimal place over in your answer. 



Inquiry into Language

 This week in spelling we are focusing on words with ei, ie and the vowel pair ei, and words with prefixes en, im, and mis. We also started to learn about persuasive writing for our OWA (Ontario writing assessment).

Today in UOI we started to learn about the circulatory system. We completed four different worksheet activities about the circulatory system and how it works, as well we completed an activity about the heart.

Today we worked on a special Christmas activity.
