Inquiry into Mathematics
Today students wrote their Unit #6 Measurement test. I have the tests marked and I have told students their marks. I will send home the test once I have reviewed and documented them.
Our next unit, Geometry, is a short one…there is only 5 lessons. It is looking like the test for Geometry will take place on Friday, November 23rd.
Inquiry into Language
Today in Language, once students completed their math tests they worked on spelling lesson # 10. This week students are learning about vowel diagraphs using ie and ei, and vowel pair ei. Spelling words are on the blog.
Unit of Inquiry
Today in UOI we read about the famous pharaohs and the government of Egypt. Once we completed reading together as a class, students worked in groups or independently on the activity questions.
It is hard to believe, but we are nearing the end of our second Unit of Inquiry. For our summative, students will be required to recreate an ancient artifact from one of the three civilization we learned about. An information package and rubric will be sent home sometime next week. We will begin our in-class summative on Monday, November 19th and the due date will be Thursday, November 29th. A kind reminder that all work is to be completed during class time only, unless other wise stated.
