Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you had a fabulous night! Tomorrow is day 4 (Gym, Music and French).
Picture day is coming up this Thursday. Please make sure you have all the correct uniform pieces for your picture. Also, Halloween is just around the corner. A reminder about costumes, no masks, no weapons of any sort and no scary face paint/ costumes.

Inquiry into Language

Today in Language we started our OWA. For our first OWA we are focusing on narrative writing. As a class we brainstormed what contents need to be included to write a narrative. Then students completed a mapping activity to help them map out a narrative paragraph.

Inquiry into Math

Today in Math we learned how to tell time using the 24-hour clock.  Telling time can be told in 12- hour notation or 24-hour notation. We learned that the 24 hour clock is used in the military, medical services and for flights. 12:00am - 12:00pm = 0-12 hours (Day), 1pm - 12am = 13-24 hours (Afternoon/ Night). The 24-hour notation uses 4 digits - 15:30. Students worked on Lesson 2 pg. 82-83. If it was not completed in class it is for homework.

1:00 PM – 13:00
2:00 PM – 14:00
3:00 PM – 15:00
4:00 PM  - 16:00
5:00 PM = 17:00
6:00 PM = 18:00
7:00 PM – 19:00
8:00 PM – 20:00
9:00 PM – 21:00
10:00 PM – 22:00
11:00 PM – 23:00
12:00 PM – 00:00

Then we start back at 1:00 AM.
