To start our day students had Music with Mr. Oliver, and then had French with Mme. Rawan.
Following French we had Inquiry into Math: during math students had time to ask any questions they may have had about homework. We also reviewed what prime and composite numbers are. Students worked on a mini review on prime and composite numbers.
Prime and Composite Numbers Worksheet
After recess and lunch students had Gym with Mr. Orr.
Capture the Flag! Fun!
Following Gym, we had Inquiry into Language: during our Language period students read Percy Jackson Chapter 3 and worked on comprehension questions. The comprehension questions are due tomorrow.
** International Day is upon us. This year our class will be researching ITALY. We will be beginning our research and rough copies next week. Groups will be assigned tomorrow. Please bring in research (Internet or books from the library) for Monday.
Chapter 3 Comprehension Questions
Independent Reading
Finally, after recess and snack, we had Unit of Inquiry: today we learned about reversible and non-reversible changes. We discussed examples of reversible and non-reversible changes. Then we joined Mrs. Hocevar's and Mr. Conte's class for more experiments. Before we began our experiments students had to fill out their lab journals, by making a hypothesis and then observations after the experiment was over.
Reversible and Non-Reversible Changes
Hot and Cold Chocolate
We learned that chocolate is a reversible change. You can melt the chocolate and then put it in the freezer to put in back into a solid and vice versa.
Melted/ Liquid state
Frozen/ Solid state
Elephant Toothpaste
We learned that when you mix hydrogen peroxide, food colouring, dish soap and yeast together then it will foam. We learned that you can not reverse this change.
Homework:
- Math review due tomorrow
- Spelling lesson 2 due tomorrow
- Bring in device tomorrow

There is a $15 annual fee that must be paid and the test times begin at 7:15 AM. Committed students will write the tests on:
