Good Afternoon Everyone,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Tomorrow is day 3 (Gym, Music and Dress up as a movie/book character). Tomorrow students are welcome to dress as their favourite movie/book character. If you are not participating please come to school dressed in your gym uniform with your gym shoes and bring your full school day uniform to change into. Please take some time to check our lost and found, which is over flowing. Anything that is not collected will be donated over March Break to the Diabetes Association. Hot lunch payments are due this Friday, March 6. After care invoices are due Sunday, March 15.  ** For our coding unit, which begins in May, students will need to have a working laptop and email address, as they will be required to send their work to me via email. Gmail accounts were most popular last year!**

This week is spirit week! If you would like to participate you are welcome to wear:
Tuesday: Book or Movie Character
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday (We will be skiing)
Thursday: Sports day
Friday: St. Patricks Day

Our next extra-curricular activity is skiing/snowboarding at Glen Eden Ski Resort. Our next trip is Wednesday, March 4. Please do not order lunch for this day; it will not be saved nor will a reimbursement be given. We will be leaving at 7:00 AM and returning by 4:00 PM at the latest. All rentals are included, however students are more than welcome to bring their own. Please do not order hot lunch for these days as we will be eating lunch at the ski hill – students are welcome to bring money to purchase food and drink items. Students must ensure they are dressed in appropriate ski gear; warm socks, long johns with comfy clothes, snow pants, warm mitts, a face protector (if possible) and a ski jacket. Please note that if students chose skiing, they will ski all three times. If students pick snowboarding, they will snowboard all three times. All students will have to pass each level before they are granted permission to ski on the big hill, no matter what their experience.

March Break Camps

Forms have been sent home regarding SJA’s awesome Adventure Camp. The wonderful camp will run from Monday to Friday both weeks of the March Break (March 9-13 & March 16-20) and is offered to student from JK to Grade 6. Field trips will take place on Thursday afternoons. Meal plans are also included if you chose to do so. Cash or QuickBooks payments only please. Don’t delay; register today!

Today was our TMA vs. SJA Oral Competition. A huge shoutout to all students who got up on stage and recited their speech! Excellent job! Congratulations to M who won second place!

When TMA arrived we played an icebreaker game to get to know them! We played find a friend bingo!

Inquiry into Language

Today students worked on spelling lesson #23. This week we are focusing on spelling words using syllabication rules. 

Inquiry into Mathematics

Today we had our TMA vs. SJA Oral Competition.

Our first unit after March Break will be Transformational Geometry. Our last two units will be Fractions and Probability.

Today students continued to work on their summative presentations. In groups, students are responsible for creating a new country, in which groups will create a flag, motto, and of course develop a system of government . The summative is due on Thursday, March 5^th 
and presentations will be on Thursday, March 5^{th .} See below the groups for the government summative.
