The next Caribou contest will be taking place Wednesday, February 26th, 2020. Students are to arrive at 7:15 am for a 7:30 am start. They should bring their own charged devices.
The interactive question for Grades 2-10 will be Bomb Defuser and for Grade 11/12 it will be GeomeTree requiring a construction involving lines and circles. Because Caribou’s GeomeTree site can be used to solve the interactive question, this site will be blocked at noon on Tuesday, February 25th. Both interactive questions are accessible from Caribou’s Games/History page.

Contact Caribou directly if you have any problems with the games.

There will be no history question in the February contest.

Our next extra-curricular activity is skiing/snowboarding at Glen Eden Ski Resort. The dates of the trip are January 22, February 19 and March 4. Please do not order lunch for these days; it will not be saved nor will a reimbursement be given. We will be leaving at 7:00 AM and returning by 4:00 PM at the latest. All rentals are included, however students are more than welcome to bring their own. Please do not order hot lunch for these days as we will be eating lunch at the ski hill – students are welcome to bring money to purchase food and drink items. Students must ensure they are dressed in appropriate ski gear; warm socks, long johns with comfy clothes, snow pants, warm mitts, a face protector (if possible) and a ski jacket. Please note that if students chose skiing, they will ski all three times. If students pick snowboarding, they will snowboard all three times. All students will have to pass each level before they are granted permission to ski on the big hill, no matter what their experience.

March Break Camps
Forms have been sent home regarding SJA’s awesome Adventure Camp. The wonderful camp will run from Monday to Friday both weeks of the March Break (March 9-13 & March 16-20) and is offered to student from JK to Grade 6. Field trips will take place on Thursday afternoons. Meal plans are also included if you chose to do so. Cash or QuickBooks payments only please. Don’t delay; register today!

Today our new Grade 5's enjoyed Gym and French in the Morning, and after second lunch they went to visit Mr. Oliver for Music.

Inquiry into Language
Today as a  class we read the first chapter of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Students also completed a word search and crossword on the Greek gods.

Inquiry into Mathematics
Today students explored nets. We started off with creating the net of a cube... but is there only one way to make a net of a cube? Students had time to create as many nets as they can using our manipulatives.

Unit of Inquiry
Today we learned about the Human Body. We watched a video on the digestive system and completed a fill in the blank activity. Students also assembled a skeleton.
