I hope you had a great night! Tomorrow is day 5 (Gym and Music). Please wear your gym uniform to school and bring your gym hoes. Also, please remember to bring in your device to work on International Day.
Winter uniforms begin on Tuesday, October 15th, after our Thanksgiving weekend. All students in Grade 4-6 will need to have all pieces of the winter uniform with them everyday. The winter uniform consists of SJA gray pants/skirt, navy blue socks and black dress shoes (which they already have), a white button up long sleeve crested SJA shirt, a navy blue SJA crested sweater/sweater vest, an academic and house colour tie (to be worn every Friday) and an SJA crested blazer. Please be sure to label all pieces! Blazers must be worn during transitions and around the school, but can be taken off while in class and during lunch. If you do not have any of these pieces please contact Alpa as soon as possible at alpa@multiformcanada.com.
On Monday, October 7th students who raised $40 for our Fall Fundraiser will be going on a trip to Glow Zone!
Casual forms were sent home. The cost for the year is $20 (cash only)! If you would like to participate in casual day for the year forms and money are due back by Friday, October 25th.

Inquiry into Language
Today we continued working on our international day projects! Please remember students will need a device everyday for research, as well students will be expected to reference to books.
Our annual International Day is quickly approaching and will take place on Thursday, October 17th. This year the country we will be learning about is New Zealand. For the next few weeks, we will be busy researching and putting together a fabulous presentation on our country. Students will need devices and books from a local library to complete their research. Please see the following groups and topics for this project.
Groups for international day:
Food: Alexander. M, Brandon
Holidays/ Traditions: Adam, Nicole
Sports/ Music: Daksh, Alex.K
Toys/ Games: Ben, Aarsh
Imports/ Exports: Michael, Jorvin
Laws/ Policies: Medha, Suditi
Culture/ Language: Kaitlyn, Vidhi
Dance/ Art/ Clothing: Laura, Pranati
Today we explored number patterns. We learned that a recursive pattern is when each term can be found by applying the pattern rule to the precious term. Please see examples below.
Pattern rule is: Start at 7. Multiply by 2, then add 1 each time.
7 x 2 +1 =15. 15x2+1=31. 31x2+1=63 and so on..
Unit of Inquiry
Today we wrote a pop-quiz to review our knowledge on our matter unit. Once students completed the pop-quiz they worked on a crossword puzzle. Tomorrow we will be handing out our Science Fair Packages and going over the expectations.
It is hard to believe but we are at the end of our matter unit. We will be sending home information regarding the summative tomorrow. For this summative, students will be completing their science fair project. Students must pick an experiment that has to do with matter. Next week, we will be working our way through the Scientific Method and rough copies of our questions, hypothesis, variables, and research. Over Thanksgiving weekend, students will be required to conduct their experiment three separate times, record all observations, and write down the results. The week of October 15-18th, students will complete their good copies, create their graph, and begin board set up. The summative will be due Friday, October 18th, with presentations taking place this day. Our school wide science fair is happening on Friday, November 15th. Don’t forget to take some pictures of you completing your experiment.
Today Mrs. Hayward came to join us in Grade 5 to teach us about citations. She taught us how to properly cite (MLA, APA), paraphrasing, and about plagiarism.
