Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you had a great day! Tomorrow is day 2 (Music, French, and Gym). Tomorrow is Raptors Day. Students may wear a Raptors shirt/jersey with casual pants. Please refrain from sending students in the Raptors colours of red or black…we are looking for Raptors specific shirts/jerseys! Students not wanting to participate are asked to come in their full school day uniform. Monday, June 10th, will be our final house colour spirit day. Students are encouraged to dress in as much of their house colour as they can. We will play our final house games of the year and find out which house will take possession of the house cup! LETS GO KAPPA!!!

A huge congratulation to Coach Yustin, Coach Orr, and all athletes for a very successful SSAF Track and Field Tournament!

The Grade 4's have been working hard on their last Unit of Inquiry: Arts Alive! If you are available please come to check our all their hard work!

Inquiry into Language

Today in language students worked on spelling lesson #34. This week we are learning about irregular plurals. All spelling lessons are due tomorrow and our spelling test will be on Thursday!

Inquiry into Mathematics

Today in math students reviewed concepts that we have learned throughout the year with a focus on solving word problems. Students worked on completing cumulative review of Units 1-4 from our math makes sense textbook. I will hand back math tests once all students have written it!

Unit of Inquiry

Today in UOI students continued to work on their coding summatives.

For our final summative this year students have been hired by a successful video game corporation to create a game using Scratch. Students can either create a new game, or make a remake of a classic video game – students must state if they are doing this and give credit to the original creator. Students will need to begin by brainstorming ideas by sketching and describing sprites, setting a background, have a game purpose and create an original title if necessary. Students will also be required to hand write a minimum of a one page (front and back, double spaced) report on their game. They will need to address the objective of their game, the characters, the instructions on how to play their game, debugging (explaining what code provided the most challenge and why), document the progress and process, and lastly reflect on the game (did people enjoy it, how do they feel about it, etc.). Students will also need to create an advertisement. Students should refer to the outline and rubric throughout to ensure they are meeting all of the requirements. The summative is due Monday, June 10th. All work must be completed in class!

We also visited our friends in Ms. Fisher's class!
