I hope you had a wonderful day! Tomorrow is day 6 (Track and Field). Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate for our track day today, so it is postponed till tomorrow. Students are asked to wear their gym uniforms to school. It looks like the weather is going to be warm. Please dress for the weather: sunscreen, hat, sweater, water, extra snacks etc. We will be selling freezies for $1 tomorrow!
Year-End Play Day forms are overdue!! If you would still like to participate in this fun day, please bring in your forms tomorrow!!
Today we had our track and field day. The weather was not on our side, but we still managed to get through some of our events. Great job Grade 5's!!
Inquiry into Language
Today in language we did a newspaper activity and highlighted the 5 W's and H. Then students continued to finish their newspaper articles from yesterday. Tomorrow we will still have our spelling test in the morning before track.
Inquiry into Mathematics
Today in math we went over the concepts we learned yesterday (input/output machines and graphs). Then in table groups students created their own input/output machines, with a table and graph and other tables had to figure out their pattern rule.
Since track day is now tomorrow, we also explored patterns in geometry.
Unit of Inquiry
Students continued to work on their racing game. The racing game is now due on Monday. Students will have time on Monday to ensure their game has all the required criteria as per the rubric.
