Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you had a great night! Tomorrow is day 2 (Gym, Music, French). Please bring your gym clothes and gym shoes to school.

On Thursday November 8th is our trip to the ROM. Students must wear their full school day uniform (tie, blazer, vest, shirt, pants, navy blue socks, and dress shoes). Please bring a disposable lunch for this day.

REMINDER FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9th IS A PA DAY!

Oakwood Academy is holding a Poinsettia fundraiser for the holiday season, to raise money for some new sensory items. The Poinsettias are red, pink or white and make a wonderful holiday gift, and are a nice way to spread holiday cheer. Order forms were sent home today. The class that sells the most Poinsettias will win a $50 gift card!! Order between November 1st and November 30th. The only form of payment will be cash. Thank you in advance!

World Kindness Day is taking place on Tuesday, November 13th. Students are asked to give a handprint for every act of kindness they perform. For $2.00, students can have an extra casual day.

Inquiry into Mathematics

Today in Math, we took up last nights Measurement review. I will send another review home at some point this week to allow students to study over the weekend to ensure they are ready for our test on Monday, November 12th.

Inquiry into Language

Today in Language each student recited the Guy Fawkes Day Poem, each student who could recite it perfectly earned a point for their house. Once we finished with our Guy Fawkes Day Poem, we made adjustments to our Christmas Concert song, then we practiced together as a class.

Unit of Inquiry

Today in UOI read and learned about the Ancient Egyptians. We learned about the daily life in Ancient Egypt, where the Nile river is located on a map, what towns were closest to the Nile river, Egyptian words and the meaning of them, and we learned about the ritual of embalming.
